Travel Plans for 2019
Here's a little peek into what we have planned for this year. Right Buddy quit her good-paying job and we are currently creatively pursuing a few different types of revenue streams to keep paying our bills. However, all of these pursuits give us more opportunity to travel. So we plan on hitting the road for most of the summer. In addition to our big plans for backpacking the Grand Canyon in September and our training hikes around Colorado, we have more road trip wandering planned. We don't have a lot of details yet, but the main idea is to make a week long trip to Ohio in April, make a two to three week loop to the west coast in late June and early July, and a three to four week long loop towards the east coast in late July and early August, including a three day backpacking trip on the Appalachian Trail.
Since the budget will be tight for a while, our road trips will probably involve more tent camping than hotels. To save even more money, we may even do some boondocking or stealth camping in our Toyota Highlander. We would like to get a camper van, such as the Recon Camper (Right Buddy's preference), or a class B RV, such as something similar to the Carado Axion (Left Buddy's preference), but losing our main income put a hold on those plans. We do not agree right now on what to get, so there might be some blog posts in the future about the camper van debate and, perhaps, how we manage to stealth camp in our Highlander if we go that route.
In the mean time, we will continue to post about our 2018 trips, finishing the Europe trip and some of other trips in the States. We will intersperse those posts with our current activities. That probably means we will be posting more than once a week until we get caught up.
We enjoy sharing our experiences and our journey with you and hope you enjoy our posts. We would love to receive your feedback about our posts on our Facebook page!
